FAQ

Questions We Get Asked:

No, and we do not weight it. The curriculum starts from probability fundamentals and members come from math, CS, statistics, economics, physics, engineering, and business. What we do weight is how you reason through an unfamiliar problem and whether you follow through on the work.

Not to join. Comfort with Python helps and will matter more as you move into project teams, but plenty of members learn it here. We run introductory sessions on the Python tooling (pandas, NumPy, and backtesting) as part of onboarding.

We stay deliberately tight-knit, so we add people at a pace where everyone can be given real work and real attention. The form on our join page registers your interest; officers review submissions each cycle and reach out to the people we think are a fit. Not hearing back is not a verdict — plenty of members were a better fit the second time they expressed interest.

An officer follows up to talk through what you are looking for, then you get the Discord invite, the meeting calendar, and the curriculum material. From there you are expected at meetings and on a team — the group is small enough that people notice when someone stops showing up.

Yes. We run mock interviews, mental math and brainteaser drills, and market-making simulations, and we host sessions with trading and research firms. Members who have already been through these interviews sit in on the mocks and give feedback afterward.

Yes. We work with firms on info sessions, workshops, competition sponsorship, and direct recruiting. Send it through the interest form — note that you are writing on behalf of a firm — and an officer will follow up with our sponsorship information.
